Two Nantucket classics -- a single-masted sailboat and a pair of scallop shells -- rendered in hand-cast plaster and set behind gilded oval rims on natural linen. Each medallion is individually cast and hand-painted, the soft relief of traditional intaglio giving every motif a sculptural depth you can't get from a print.
Mounted in a vintage Italian wood frame with a beautifully distressed finish, this is a piece that brings Old World craft to a distinctly coastal story.
