Three Nantucket icons -- a whale's tail breaking the surface, the historic Brant Point Lighthouse, and a full-masted clipper under sail -- rendered in hand-cast plaster and set behind gilded oval rims on natural linen. Each medallion is individually cast and hand-painted, the soft relief of traditional intaglio giving every motif a sculptural depth you can't get from a print.
Mounted in a vintage Italian gold wood frame with a fine-beaded edge, this is a piece that brings Old World craft to a distinctly coastal story.
