About
Italian intaglios with a New England coastal influence.
Intagliato was founded by Paulina Oliwia Chodura, a 3D sculptor and engineer, and Meghan O'Connell, an interior designer and entrepreneur. Their work joins Italian intaglio traditions with the nautical character of Nantucket, Cape Cod, and the New England coast.
Our Story
While living in Italy, Paulina and Meghan found that most souvenirs did not reflect the art and history around them. They began making framed plaster intaglios as a more lasting reminder of place, drawing first from Italian art, classical reliefs, and the landscape around Lago Maggiore.
Meghan's summers on Nantucket and Cape Cod gave the work another clear direction. Lighthouses, whales, shells, maps, sailboats, and quarterboards now sit alongside Italian and classical subjects.
Our Work
Paulina's background in sculpture and engineering guides the relief work. Meghan brings her experience in interior design to the materials and framing. Pieces are locally crafted in small batches, with plaster intaglios set against linen, paper, wallpaper, or matboard and finished in vintage or handcrafted frames.
Italy and the Coast
The collection moves between places that matter to its founders: Isola Bella and Lago Maggiore in Italy; Nantucket, Cape Cod, and the wider New England coast in the United States.
